Raushan takes helm, relieves GM Quader, Chunnu of JaPa posts

Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chief Patron Raushan Ershad has relieved its Chairman GM Quader and Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu of the party posts.

She made the announcement at a press conference at her Gulshan office in the capital on Sunday noon.

Raushan and her spokesperson Kazi Mamunur Rashid have been made new chairman and secretary general respectively.

The party’s crisis has deepened due to a number of recent decisions of top leadership, including the expulsion of popular and strong leaders from the party, participation in the election without consensus among party men, and reaching an understanding with the Awami League on only 26 seats in the election.
